Global Angels
Global Angels is an innovative children's charity mixing together a vast network of professionals and volunteers to radically improve the lives of children worldwide and making a long-lasting and powerful impact on world suffering. Global Angels combines celebrity concerts, compelling documentaries and partnerships with the business world to provide the impetus to turn everyone into an angel.

Global Angels help to provide Bio-Sand water filters to families without access to clean water. For example families in Cambodia where only 31% of the rural population have access to clean, safe water. The rest rely on unclean and unprotected water supplies which must be boiled for a long time using scarce resources. As a result of drinking contaminated water many Cambodians are stricken with water-borne diseases such as typhoid and diarrhoea. However the water filter project now into its fifth year of providing clean water solutions for families has become a rallying point for educational campaigns on health and hygiene. The water filters are a simple technology which consists of a concrete casing filled with layers of sandused for water purification. A biological layer develops at the surface which traps organic matter such as disease causing organisms. These are popular due to the low cost, easy maintenance and proven effectiveness. A typical household filter yields between 20-60 litres per hour, and each family is taught how to use the filter properly with rewards given for villagers who maintain their filters correctly.

Funds raised will support established, long-term development projects that are making a significant impact on the lives of children. Global Angels promises that for every pound it receives directly from public donation, that pound will go directly to support projects at a grass-roots level.
